Commuter Lounge brings you the comforts of home and is designed exclusively for flight personnel based out of Newark Airport. It is owned and operated by a pilot (and his wife) who is based out of EWR but lives in Washington, DC. We are located in a safe, quaint, working-class neighborhood where you can enjoy quiet, comfortable living just minutes from Newark Liberty Airport and New York City (a short train ride away), but is also within 5 min. walking distance to shops, restaurants, bars, cleaners, the gym & supermarkets.

The house features a furnished living room with TV, x-box, cable TV, DVD player, hi-speed wireless internet, pool/ping-pong table, kitchen, washer/dryer, your own personal wooden beds (no hot beds), utilities included an more!

Why did we start a “crash pad”? We’ve been there and we understand the boredom experienced over long reserve periods, waiting for hours at the airport before your show time because the “24 hr shuttle” only comes once an hour, being far away from everything. A year ago when we completed FO training, we searched frantically for a place to live in Newark, and ended up in a dump for $250/month + $45/month on utilities. As soon as we held a line, we got out, only to find that some lines were not commutable so instead we spent countless sleepless nights in the Crew Room.

Why is it so cheap compared to everyone else? We understand the pain of being a commuter with a whole other house/apt in another state on a tight budget and having to pay additional money for Internet, Cable TV, utilities, entertainment, laundry facilities, and even a $5 beer! We took all those problems and came up with a solution. Also, we’re new and not established so we figure we’ll do what low cost airlines are doing to legacy carriers - beat the competition on price and quality!
